“There
are two things you must always consider when sending shipments
out of Israel:
1. People sometimes forget the security issue in Tel Aviv
airport. Each shipment is held for minimum of 24hrs. and
for unknown shippers, an airport security officer might
call the customer or the shipper for questioning.
2. When traveling with handcarry items make sure it fits
the overhead compartment especially if you may be seated
on the Upper Deck of a Boeing 747.”

“For
import shipments to China, all wooden packing must have an inspection
by the Chinese quarantine department. This is a different and
separate process from the Customs clearance inspection. Shipments
will only be released if all wooden crates have clear IPPC stamp.
If there is no IPPC stamp or any holes in the crate or if the
crate is in poor condition it will be rejected by quarantine
& destroyed. If you are making your crates from all plywood
material so that IPCC stamping is not necessary, make sure that
the crate is 100% plywood (or manufactured timber) and alert
your agent about this condition when sending out shipping pre-alert.

| “In
Argentina it is not possible to have your agent perform tarmac
security at the airport. They can only go as far as the cargo
terminal. Also, it is also important to know that Customs requires
an inspection of all shipments coming for temporary import and
going for temporary export. Most often this will be done at
the airport unless special arrangements can be made. Allow plenty
of time to make these arrangements.” Ruben

 |
| “When
you send a shipment to Australia remember that the Wood Packaging
regulations and Quarantine are two separate things. The Wood
Packaging stamp only covers the crate - Australian Quarantine
Inspection Service may still need to inspect the contents
of the crate!”
