ICEFAT CELEBRATED

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

 
The key word for our 30th Anniversary Convention in Istanbul was “CELEBRATE” and indeed we did. This convention marked the passing of the third decade in the history of our organization and I can say without a doubt that the next 30 years will continue to show that ICEFAT is the international leader when it comes to “promoting the highest standards of Fine Art shipping worldwide”

ICEFAT celebrated the admission of six new members, all professionals in the field. New members are from all around the globe including Germany, Italy, Japan, Peru and Switzerland.

The convention format this year allowed for many more informative discussions and workshops. Sessions took place each day of the convention including presentations from two ICEFAT members, each of whom took us on a photo documented journey of special project they were involved with this past year.

Our appreciation and thanks go to Mr. Simon Hornby of Global Risk Partners for his informative insights and “inside look” at the changing state of the insurance industry in this post-disaster era. Following up on that important issue led Bob Crozier of Crozier Fine Art, USA to establish and chair a sub-committee on “Commercial Fine Art Warehouse Best Practices”. His committee will be working with Simon Hornby and representatives of the major insurance underwriters worldwide to develop Best Practice Standards that will set ICEFAT members apart from all others in the world.

On closing I would like to make special mention and thank for the wonderful work that Kingsley Mundey and the team from IAS Australia accomplished in preparing the ICEFAT 30th Anniversary DVD. This DVD a true testament to the growth of ICEFAT and the depth and rich history of our members.
