CUSTOMS UPDATE

In line with ongoing enforcement of homeland security regulations around the world we would like to make you aware of the tightening of documentary requirements for import and export shipments.

Customs border protection in most countries is now monitoring the documentation on both import and export shipments. Your local ICEFAT agent will advise you on specific requirements for your project but as a rule all Air Waybills and Shipping Invoices must show:

  • the actual name of the Shipper as the Consignor (not the name of the freight agent);
  • the name of the Importer of Record (not the name of the freight agent or customs broker) as the Consignee

  Shipments which do not have all documentation – including the above details – correctly completed will experience significant delays with export or import clearance and may be subject to mandatory
physical inspection.

  Your art logistics agent will double check all documentation to avoid delays and possible examinations of your valuable
shipments and will seek your support in these important matters.
